Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Insulin Advocate, LLC (“Insulin Advocate,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use the Insulin Advocate application, website, and related support services (collectively, the “Services”). The private beta is intended for users in the United States.
1. Information we collect
Account information. We collect identifiers and contact information used to create and secure your account, such as your email address, user ID, authentication provider, profile preferences, and onboarding status.
Health and activity information. At your direction, the app may process and store information including glucose readings, insulin doses, meals and nutrition, calories, exercise, heart rate, sleep, stress, weight, planned events, dosing factors, and scenarios or notes you create.
Subscription information. We receive subscription status, product identifiers, purchase and expiration information, and related transaction metadata from Apple and RevenueCat. We do not receive your complete payment-card number.
Support and technical information. We collect information you choose to include in support communications. The app and its service providers may also process basic device, application, interaction, and diagnostic information needed to provide, secure, and troubleshoot the Services.
2. Sources of information
We receive information directly from you and, when you authorize a connection, from services such as Apple Health and Dexcom. Google may provide basic account information when you choose Google authentication. Apple and RevenueCat provide subscription records. You control third-party permissions through the applicable service and device settings.
3. How we use information
We use information to authenticate users; display and synchronize health context; save preferences and scenarios; provide subscription access; operate offline and cross-device features; respond to support requests; maintain security; diagnose errors; comply with law; and improve the reliability and usability of the Services.
We do not use health information for advertising, sell health information, or use information obtained through Apple Health for advertising, marketing, or unrelated data-mining purposes.
4. How we disclose information
We disclose information only as reasonably necessary to operate the Services, follow your instructions, protect users and the Services, or comply with law. Service providers may include:
- Supabase, for authentication, databases, synchronization, and infrastructure;
- RevenueCat and Apple, for subscription processing and entitlement status;
- Google, if you choose Google authentication; and
- Dexcom, if you connect a Dexcom account.
These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies as well as our instructions where applicable. We may also disclose information in connection with a legal request, safety incident, financing, merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate protections.
5. Apple Health and sensitive health information
Access to Apple Health is optional. The app requests only categories used by features you choose, and you can revoke access in iOS Settings or the Health app. Insulin Advocate reads supported information and does not write health information to Apple Health. Health information is sensitive and is used to provide health-management functionality directly to you, not for targeted advertising.
6. Retention and deletion
We retain account and service information while your account is active and as reasonably needed to provide the Services, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, meet legal obligations, and maintain security. Retention periods vary by the type of information and why it is held. Backup copies may remain for a limited period before routine deletion.
You may request account and data deletion through the app when that control is available or by emailing support@insulinadvocate.com from the address associated with your account. We may verify account ownership. Some information may be retained when required by law or necessary for fraud prevention, security, or legal claims.
7. Your choices and rights
You may review or change supported profile settings in the app, disconnect third-party services, change Apple Health permissions, restore or cancel subscriptions through Apple, and request access, correction, or deletion by contacting us. Depending on applicable law, you may have additional rights. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
8. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Protect your account credentials and contact us if you believe your account or information has been compromised.
9. Children
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided information should contact us.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the Services or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy with a new effective date and provide additional notice when appropriate.
